I'm glad the week is over...all in all, not a terrible week:

• One of Dragonfly's Etsy floral dresses was featured on this cute blog, Days Days Days, in a Color Chaos Days post - I feel quite honored to be in good company - Thanks!
• I didn't blow up when the gas stove went on the fritz
• The landlady got the naughty gas stove fixed Right Away
• It finally got truly cooler and crisp. I love cool and crisp. 

Maybe that's it. The week always seems better in review. 

Tomorrow the ex and I are driving upstate to visit The Child at college for Parents Weekend. We only stay the one day. It's lovely to ride in the car all day and not be the one who has to drive. I just get to look out the window, read, and nap. It's like a little mini vacation. Oh yeah, and I get to see my daughter. Bonus  :-)

haunting beauty

When I lived back on Long Island there was this one thrift store I'd go to every week in search of vintage goodies for the shop. There was one cashier who would always say, "oh! you got this dress before me!" or "how come I never saw that?!" She was adorable and it was clear we had the same taste in vintage clothing, and we started chatting. In time we discovered a shared love of photography as well. We exchanged flickr profiles and I was in awe of her work.

She moved away shortly after and I never heard from her again, but I've continued to follow her hauntingly beautiful work on flickr.

monday mosaics ~ thoughts of summer

Following in the tradition of The Drifter & The Gypsy, I am doing a "Monday Mosaic" again this week...thanks to Micaela for such a great idea!

it's been so cold...and normally I'm not one to wish for winter to hurry up and end, but this year...yeah...a little bit...I'm thinking of warmer days ahead and the joys of summer...barefeet and sunny highlights and carefree afternoons...sitting on a bench by the harbor watching the sunset...mmmmmmm
